Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Bradford Royal Infirmary

Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics Bradford Royal Infirmary

I was appointed to Bradford Royal Infirmary in February 2005. In my career to date I have performed over 1000 total hip and 2000 knee replacements. With an extensive experience of complex primary and revision joint replacement I have established a large arthroplasty practice. I perform over 250 joint replacements a year with results above the national average. I have a sub-specialist interest in the surgical management of arthritis in the high functioning patient with expertise in Partial Knee Replacement and Hip Re-Surfacing.
I am passionate about improving patient experience and outcomes. I have introduced and developed accelerated recovery pathways and am constantly evaluating new surgical techniques and technology to ensure my patients have access to the best possible care. In my clinical leadership roles I have been able to influence working practices and professional culture to improve standards of care and patient safety.
In addition to my elective surgical interests I continue to manage general trauma patients and am on the faculty for AO UK courses. In my role as honorary senior lecturer I supervise, train and teach undergraduate medical students, junior and senior surgical trainees.
